History of Joseph H. Pilates

When Mr. Joseph Pilates passed away in 1967, he left no will and had designated no line of succession for the "Pilates" work to carry on. Nevertheless, his work would remain. However, in the 1970’s Hollywood celebrities discovered Pilates via Ron Fletcher's studio in Beverly Hills and wherever the stars go, the media follows. In the late 1980s, the media began to cover Pilates extensively. The public took note, and the Pilates business boomed. Today, over 10 million Americans practice Pilates, and the numbers continue to grow. Learn more about the story of this pioneer.

Studio Policies

All packages must be prepaid to receive discount rate

There will be a charge for missed sessions or cancellations without 24 hours notice

Cancellation Policy

NoBo pilates requires at least 24 hours notice for any cancellations or schedule changes. You will be billed the full fee if you miss your appointment with less than 24 hours notice.

Hayley Hobson

Hayley began teaching the Pilates Method in Los Angeles in 2000, after acquiring her first certification from the Physical Mind Institute. While living in LA, Hayley operated her own Pilates studio out of Phase IV, an athletic think tank for the endurance athlete which was created for athletes of all ages in any kind of sport. Camcie Foster

Camcie, a classically trained ballarina with experience with several ballet companies, was introduced to Pilates with her very first ballet classes, but began studying Pilates seriously when injuries threatened to end her career.
